Job Description and Requirements

  • Principal:  This position is that of Principal in a Head Start School.  Responsible for the implementation at the campus of the services within the framework of the Head Start Performance Standards and requirements as set forth by the State of Texas Licensing requirements.  Supervise all staff at the campus.

  • Head Start Teacher (ages 3-5):  minimum of an AA in Early Childhood Education required.  BA in Early Childhood Preferred.   Two or more years teaching in a child care or preschool setting preferred.

  • Early Head Start Teacher (ages birth-3):  Minimum of an Infant and Toddler CDA required.  Two or more years teaching in a child care or preschool setting preferred.

  • Associate Teacher: High School Diploma or GED requiredTwo or more years teaching in a child care or preschool setting. CDA  is preferred.

  • Teacher Assistant:  High School Diploma or GED required. Two or more years teaching in a child care or preschool setting.

  • Food Service Manager:  High School Diploma or GED. Food Service Management certification preferred. Two (2) or more years experience cooking in a restaurant, daycare, or school cafeteria. Two (2) or more years driving experience with a good record.

  • Family Case Manager I:  High School Diploma, or GED. Associate Degree in Mental Health or related field preferred.  Within 18 months of hire is to attend and receive a Case Manager Certification.  Two (2) or more years experience working with low-income families.  An awareness and knowledge of the cultural and social economic factors that impact the families begin served and of community resources available to all families.

  • Director of Human Resources: Bachelor’s Degree is required in Human Sciences, Human Resources or equivalent education or work experience. Two or more years of professional experience in human resources, payroll, benefits, training/administration, and employment experience. Proficient in HR and payroll (ADP) software programs. Computer literacy including Excel and Word for Windows is essential. Plans and directs programs for all human resources areas including employment, employee relations, training and development, payroll and benefits and equal employment opportunity. Develops policies and programs to meet organizational needs and provides guidance and technical assistance to other areas.
